HEAD COACH
Chris Cheshire
Coach Chris Cheshire brings 18 years of coaching experience to the Rawlings Tigers. He has worked with players of all ages, from little league and travel teams to showcase and high school baseball. Over his career at the showcase and high school levels, he has successfully helped more than 30 players transition to collegiate baseball. Coach Cheshire has owned and operated his own baseball organization and facility for 12 years. For the past year, he has been the coach of this team and is excited to continue coaching the team this season. He looks forward to bringing his extensive knowledge and expertise to the Rawlings Tigers.
ASSISTANT COACHES
Michael Reyes
Coach Reyes is a seasoned youth baseball coach with a distinguished record of accomplishments. With five years of coaching experience, he has previously led a nationally ranked 10U baseball program, during which three of his players advanced to compete at the USA Baseball level. Specializing in catcher performance and hitting technique, Coach Reyes has a deep understanding of the game and a proven ability to develop young athletes. Most recently, he served as the assistant coach at Competitive Edge, where he was responsible for pitcher and catcher development, enhancing baseball IQ, and refining throwing mechanics. Coach Reyes’ expertise and dedication continue to make a significant impact on his players, preparing them for success both on and off the field.
Franz Helchinger
Franz Helchinger is a retired naval aviator and a former Division I college athlete. He serves as the first base and strength and conditioning coach. With 6 years of baseball coaching experience, Franz has spent the past 3 years coaching this team. He brings a unique blend of discipline, athletic expertise, and coaching acumen to the Rawlings Tigers.
Doug Davidson
Doug Davidson plays a crucial role behind the scenes for the Rawlings Tigers. With 5 years of coaching experience between little league and travel baseball, Doug specializes in team logistics and scoring, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. His dedication to making things happen makes him an invaluable asset to the team.
