Head coach and assistant coach opportunities

Both roles support the same program standards with different levels of responsibility.

Lead Role

Head Coach

Leads team direction, culture, player development, staff alignment, and game execution.

  • Plan practices and weekly development priorities
  • Manage games, tournaments, lineups, and in-game decisions
  • Lead communication with families and organization leadership
  • Mentor and coordinate Assistant Coaches
Support Role

Assistant Coach

Supports instruction, stations, small-group work, team standards, and in-game execution.

  • Run stations and teach fundamentals
  • Support offense, defense, rotations, and game flow
  • Reinforce effort, accountability, and positive team culture
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Coach's team plan

Primary Focus

Commitment

In-season: 2 practices per week plus 10-14 tournaments. Off-season: 3 practices per week.

Role Assistant Coach
Primary Focus

Skill instruction, stations, small-group development, in-game support, and reinforcing team standards.

Commitment

In-season: 2 practices per week plus tournament support. Off-season: 3 practices per week.

Coaches who enjoy teaching fundamentals, supporting a team plan, and working directly with players.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Program expectations

Both roles contribute to player development and team culture, while the Head Coach carries the primary leadership responsibility for team planning and direction.

Contribute to a disciplined, positive, development-focused team culture.

Coach practices, games, and tournaments while representing the organization professionally.

Both

Support skill development through fundamentals, drills, and small-group instruction.

Communicate clearly and professionally with players, parents, and leadership.

Head

Develop practice plans, manage game strategy, set priorities, and mentor Assistant Coaches.

Assist

Support the Head Coach's plan, help run instruction, and assist with in-game coaching.

Both

Prior baseball playing and/or coaching experience is required.

Both

Must be located in or able to travel within Northern Virginia.

Compensation & Support

Paid coaching roles with program backing

Travel Support

Hotels are covered by the team for travel tournaments.
